The Bocuse d’Or, named after the great chef Paul Bocuse, is the largest and most prestigious chef’s competition in the world. It is like the World Cup in that each country picks its champion, who then compete in Lyon, France, every two years. This year, Southbrook is the exclusive national wine sponsor of Chefs Canada’s Canadian team, headed by Keith Pears.
Our Estate Merlot 2020 and 2021 Laundry Vineyard Riesling were chosen to accompany the dishes which will be served at the finals on January 26-27, 2025, in Lyon, in front of a cheering audience. As a fundraiser for the team, we have assembled a special set consisting of a wooden box containing three Southbrook magnums: one each of the 2020 Estate Merlot, the 2020 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2020 Poetica Red.
Each of the boxes and magnums will be signed by Chef Keith Pears and by me. There are only 50 boxes available, at a price of $442.48 until February 15, 2025. After that, the HST is back on and the box will retail for $500. For each box sold, we will be donating $100 to Chefs Canada to support the Canadian Team. You can purchase here.
We are so proud of our sponsorship, as not only are we supporting a great organization, but it showcases just how well Southbrook wines pair with world-class gourmet cuisine. Of course, you, dear friends, knew that already.
